I'm sort of not in a reading-ish mood these days (!!) so I'm kind of dragging my feet about what to pick up this weekend.
This morning, I stacked up a few of my reads next to me (in case I started feeling read-y), and my surly old man cat decided to claim them for himself. Later, he pushed off all the books save for The Round House so I think I'm going to start on that one first!
What are you reading this weekend?

What are you reading this weekend?

I can totally recommend you get to Here Be Dragons, mayhap that will detain your reading slump, for certes!! (*said in Here Be Dragons jargon, of course!!)
ReplyDeleteMarie, I <3 you!!! I've started it and gotten just to chapter 3 -- but I'm in love! Will hie over to the HF Connection post to start my gushing!
DeleteSuch a cute pic! Hope the reading bug hits soon. If not, I hope you enjoy your weekend doing something equally fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm celebrating my grandmother's 80th so that will be some fun, regardless of whether I get to read or not!
DeleteHow sweet that he wants to protect your books for you!!
ReplyDeleteWe joke he's jealous of the hairless ones -- either books or our laptops!
DeleteAwww, he does look grumpy, but so adorable! He will halp!
ReplyDeleteHe is totally a helper cat! When my wife was in div school, his favorite way to 'help' was to usually plunk his butt down on her bible since it was always open and always had her attention!
DeleteLove the photo! My cat likes to pull books off the shelf, he particularly likes Lord of the Rings for some reason....
ReplyDeleteLove cats sometimes...they do the kookiest things. I just finished The Help for book club today, and I have a couple of books I'm considering, but like you I've not decided on anything.
ReplyDeleteLove cats, at least when they are all cute and just laying there like that. As for what I am reading, I received The Raven Boys via Netgalley so I'm starting that. Other than that one...I have a TON of books on tap but the one I've been waiting for over a week since I got it in the mail is Burn For Burn which I can't wait to dive into. :)
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I'm reading SERENA by Ron Rash. I've never read anything by him but have been meaning to for a few years.
ReplyDeleteI tried to win from Goodreads the book you're reading this weekend. I didn't.
When in doubt let the cat decide! I finished Malindo Lo's "Ash" in the doctor's office last week. An enchanting "Cinderalla" with a lesbian twist. Unlike the usual fairy tale fare, Lo's writing is captivating yet stately, more sober than fluff. I was very pleasantly surprised and look forward to more of her work.
ReplyDeleteFrom there to Peter James "Looking Good Dead", number 2 in his Roy Grace detective series. (I think I read #1 based on an Unabridged Chick" recommend?) Loved #1 and so far #2 proving to be just as exciting and well-written.
I'm 1/3 through The Round House - it's really really good. Love your kitty
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute kitty :D Just finished Hilary Mantel's Eight Months on Ghazzah Street - one of her older ones - totally loved it. (Have you read it? I think you might like it - gothic & fascinating study of life as an expatriate woman in Saudi Arabia)
